Day 1 Arrive in Guiyang
Upon your arrival at the Guiyang Airport, you will be met by your guide, who will escort you to your hotel. Guizhou is nicknamed 'The Kingdom of Mountains', because 87% of its land is comprised of mountains and plateaus. After dinner you will visit the Hequn Night Market, which will introduce you to the most popular and spicy snacks in Guiyang. Stay overnight in Guiyang.

Day 2 Guiyang-Kaili
You will be driven from Guiyang to Kaili 220 kilometers (2.5 hours) along the scenic mountain roads. In Kaili you will visit the local market which will give you an idea of how the locals live, and give you plenty of photo ops. Later you will visit the Kaili Museum, which will give you an excellent introduction to the clothing of Guizhou's ethnic minority groups. Stay overnight in Kaili.

Day 3 Kaili Miao Ethnic Minority New Year Celebration
This day is one you will not soon forget. You will be driven to Leishan 65 kilometers (1 hour) to witness the Miao ethnic minority group's New Year's Festival. The New Year's celebrations in Leishan are very special. You will see all of the local Miao people decked out in their finest minority clothing and silver ornaments. Witness the Lusheng dancing, horse racing, rooster fights, and water buffalo fights. Stay overnight in the local village.

Day 4 Miao village-Kaili
You will continue to witness the local's lives. You can learn how to make the Miao ethnic minority group's most important traditional musical instrument, the Lusheng, or try your hand at doing some farm work the way the locals have for centuries (not heavy work). In the afternoon you will be driven back to Kaili. Stay overnight in Kaili.

Day 5 Kaili-Guiyang
In the morning you will be driven to Guiyang 220 kilometers (2.5 hours). In the afternoon you will be free to explore the beautiful city on your own. In the evening, you will see a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony in a typical Chinese garden. Stay overnight in Guiyang.

Day 6 Guiyang Departure
On this day you will be free until your guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
