Tuber of Gastrodia of Bijie

Bijie is called 'the town of tuber of gastrodia'. There are two kinds of gastrodia tubers produced in Bijie, wild and planted, with the latter one being the major part in the products. The products have no fiber and taste sweet and hot. The gastrodia tuber is a good Chinese medicine for relieving headaches, calming, and bringing down blood pressure. The annual production is 500 tons of fresh tuber of gastrodia or 40 tons of dried goods.
