Dai ethnic people and Hani ethnic people have lived in Xishuangbanna for generations, who create rich folk custom and culture. The ethnic songs and dance will be a feast to tourist's eyes. Participating in the celebration of the local traditional festivals will be an unforgettable experience. The well-known traditional festival is the ethnic Dai's Water-Splashing Festival. It lasts for three days from April 13 to 15. In the Dai Ethnic Garden, there are performances and water-splashing activities every afternoon. In Manting Park, which is located at the downtown of Manhong city (No.3 bus will bring you there), there are  Bonfire Parties and Buffet Dinner featured Dai ethnic flavor every night. Tourists also can enjoy elephant's performance in the afternoon in Wild Elephant Valley.
