The Small Olive Damp of Simao

People who are interested in archaeology can have fun here. There is the site of the Elephant Trunk new stone tool age which has the history of about 3,000 years with the cultural layer of forty-five to fifty-five cm. People collected about 150 relics like stone knife, stone axe, potsherd, special round stones in the neighboring primitive village site of Nanduo, Napan, Manpan, Bamboo Forest and the Nanpa River. There are also three copper axes of 2600 years ago. Since 1990, the Simao government invested more than 50,000,000 RMB into the construction of the Simao port, the first port on the upper reaches of the Lan cang-Mekong River. There is also a Cui Yun limestone caves about 40 km in the east of Olive Dam and 50 km from Simao.
